Strengthening the Mathematical Foundation of MEL Theory and Advancing Next-Generation Superconducting Technologies Through Global Research Collaboration
Hyunsung T&C has announced the release of Version 3 (v3) of its research paper, “Theoretical Description of Electronic Modulation and Superconducting Coherence,” on arXiv, a global scientific preprint platform, on October 19, 2026. The paper represents a significant advancement in the company's ongoing development of its proprietary Modulated Electron Lattice (MEL) theoretical framework.
The study presents a more rigorous mathematical description of the interactions between electronic modulation and superconducting coherence in high-temperature superconductors. By further developing the theoretical foundations of MEL, the research provides a framework for understanding the complex physical mechanisms underlying superconductivity.
In particular, the researchers established a coupled-field model that distinguishes among the amplitude of electronic modulation, its spatial organization and coherence, and superconducting phase stiffness. Through analytical calculations and Monte Carlo simulations, the study demonstrates how electronic modulation and superconducting properties can respond differently depending on the underlying physical coupling conditions.
These findings strengthen the mathematical consistency of the MEL framework and provide an important theoretical foundation for analyzing the electronic properties of superconducting materials and interpreting experimental observations.
Hyunsung T&C is currently collaborating with universities and research institutions in the United States to pursue experimental validation of the MEL framework using advanced techniques, including Scanning Tunneling Microscopy and Spectroscopy (STM/STS). By comparing theoretical predictions with high-resolution experimental data, the research team aims to further investigate the relationship between electronic structure and superconducting properties.
In parallel, Hyunsung T&C is advancing the commercialization of a Physics-Driven AI platform for superconducting research and development through its U.S. subsidiary, SuperMatics Inc.
The platform aims to integrate physics-based modeling, artificial intelligence, and experimental data analysis to accelerate the optimization of existing superconducting materials for practical applications and the discovery and development of next-generation superconductors. Its ultimate goal is to reduce the time and cost associated with superconducting materials research and development.
SuperMatics is also actively engaged in discussions with multiple global technology companies regarding potential collaborative research and joint development opportunities.
Moving forward, Hyunsung T&C will continue to expand its fundamental research in superconductivity and strengthen its international research collaborations. By integrating theoretical research, experimental validation, AI-driven materials development, and industrial applications, the company aims to advance its core superconducting technologies and accelerate their transition toward practical commercialization.
