Hyunsung TNC has completed the PCT international patent application (PCT/KR2025/019735) for its proprietary MEL (Modulated Electron Lattice) theory, a new framework for modeling high- and ambient-temperature superconductors. This filing formally protects the theoretical structure of MEL and the methods used to design superconducting materials based on its principles.
MEL theory introduces a novel approach that explains superconducting behavior through periodic modulation of electron density and the formation of coherence within these modulated structures. The patent covers the following key elements:
Formation, stability, and characteristics of modulated electron lattices
Modeling the impact of lattice modulation on Tc and coherence strength
Mathematical prediction of superconducting enhancement mechanisms for specific material compositions
Hyunsung TNC is currently conducting joint STS (Scanning Tunneling Spectroscopy) experiments with the UC Berkeley independent research team to validate the physical predictions of MEL theory. The ongoing program focuses on experimentally identifying:
The characteristic q-vector signatures predicted by MEL
Electron-density modulation patterns
Correlations between Δ-modulation and superconducting behavior
This collaboration represents a critical step toward independently verifying MEL theory through high-precision measurements performed by a world-class research institution.
Furthermore, MEL theory will serve as the core algorithmic foundation of SuperMatics™, Hyunsung TNC’s AI-powered next-generation superconducting materials design platform.SuperMatics™ is being developed to deliver:
AI models trained on MEL-based superconducting predictions
Monte-Carlo-driven automated screening for candidate materials
Integrated analysis combining simulation and experimental data
A high-efficiency discovery engine aimed at accelerating the path toward ambient-temperature superconductors
The completion of the PCT application marks a major milestone for Hyunsung TNC, strengthening international protection of the MEL theoretical framework and supporting the company’s broader strategy to build an AI-driven, experimentally validated platform for next-generation superconductors.
Hyunsung TNC will continue advancing MEL theory verification, expanding its collaboration with UC Berkeley, and accelerating the development of the SuperMatics™ platform to maintain a technological lead in the global race toward practical room-temperature superconductivity.
